Redhawks Jr Basketball partners with Positive Coaching Alliance to help you become a Second Goal Parents. This means leaving the scoreboard to the coaches and players while focusing relentlessly on the life lessons your child takes away from sports.

THE PARENT SEAT
It isn't easy sometimes to be a sports parent however your positive participation is the key to your athlete getting the most out of their participation in Redhawks Junior Basketball.
PARENT-PLAYER-COACH PLEDGE
PLAYER PLEDGE
Redhawk Jr Basketball Players must agree to:
Have a positive attitude
Work hard in practices and in games
Have a “team” attitude not an “I” attitude
Show respect by actively listening to the coaches
Show good sportsmanship to coaches, opponents, referees, and teammates. If you display poor sportsmanship you will be asked to sit out
PARENT PLEDGE
Redhawks Jr Basketball parents agree to:
Be respectful to coaches, opponents, officials, and players
Leave coaching to the coaches by engaging in No-Directions Cheering
Leave referring to the referees
Understand there is no guarantee on playing time in games for 4-6th grade travel teams
Bring your child to practice on time and pick them up on time
Abide by the 24 hr rule: No discussion with coaches regarding the game, a play, playing time etc 24 hr before or after a game
Concerns should be addressed with coaches first and if not resolved parents should contact Tiffany at redhawksjrbball@gmail.com
COACHES PLEDGE
Redhawks Jr Basketball coaches agree to:
Commit to the principles of Positive Coaching Alliance: Be a double goal coach who #1 strives to win while pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through basketball. #2 Model and teach your players to Honor the game. #3 Help players pursue mastery through Effort, Learning and helping players rebound from mistakes. #4 Filling your players emotional tanks
Sit any player who is not displaying good sportsmanship
Be respectful to the referees and opponents.
